Thousands Set For Crowded House In Sydney
About 5000 fans are expected to take over the Sydney Opera House forecourt as Crowded House kick off their four nights of anniversary concerts on Thursday night.
The newly-minted ARIA hall of famers will be marking 20 years since they performed their farewell tour to 100,000 people at the exact same spot, on the steps of the Opera House.
The Bureau of Meteorology has brought the weather with them, predicting zero per cent chance of rain for Thursday evening, in a pleasing development for fans who may have stood in the rain at the concert 20 years ago.
On Wednesday night, the group gave a taste of what's to come at the Opera House gigs with a performance of their song "Distant Sun" at the ARIA Awards.
More than 2500 interstate visitors are expected to travel to Sydney for the gigs but the final concert on Sunday night will be broadcast live on ABC TV, Double J and iview.
