Celebrations have ended prematurely for one schoolie on the Gold Coast, after he fell from a balcony at a Surfers Paradise apartment block.

It's believed the 17-year-old boy was leaning over the railing from a second-floor apartment at the Trilogy in Cypress Avenue around 3am, when he fell.

He was rushed to hospital in a stable condition with a suspected fractured pelvis.

Senior Sergeant Angelique Maloney wasn't sure if the teenager was affected by alcohol at the time.

"We believe he's dropped an item of property, and he's leant over and it's landed on a ledge, he's leant over to collect it and he's fallen the two floors," she said.

Queensland Police are investigating the incident.

Also this morning, four teenagers have been fined and evicted from their accommodation for 'balcony hopping'.

Two schoolies and two 16-year-olds were spotted trying to move between balconies on the 22nd floor of a Surfers Paradise hotel.
