Doggies Take Nathan Brown With First Pick

The Western Bulldogs '97 Twitter account has all the 1996 draft details

The Western Bulldogs ’97 Twitter account is reporting that the Doggies have picked up a total of seven players in the 1996 AFL Draft.

With their first pick, No.10, the Dogs selected Nathan Brown – the Morrish Medal winner from the Bendigo Pioneers who is a “classy and intelligent left-foot utility”.

At pick 20, the Dogs selected Matthew Dent who became available after his old club Fitzroy merged with Brisbane at the end of the 1996 season.

The Dogs' last five players selected at the 1996 draft were Jim Plunkett (pick 32), Jacob Rhodes (44), Brett Montgomery (47), Paul Dooley (58) and Stephen Powell (61).
