West Coast Look To The Bulldogs To Boost Ruck Stocks

West Coast has approached Western Bulldogs free agent Will Minson in a bid to bolster their ruck stocks for next season.

The Eagles’ number one ruckman, Nic Naitanui, will miss all of next year with an ACL injury, while their backup Scott Lycett is facing an uphill battle to be right for the start of 2017 after undergoing PCL surgery.

The Eagles have also looked at Cats ruck Nathan Vardy and quashed speculation about moves for Todd Goldstein and Matthew Lobbe.

"We've cast a pretty wide net … we've spoken to managers of a number of players and a number of players as well," West Coast football manager Craig Vozzo told Fairfax media.

"Will Minson was another we spoke to, but we're just working through that.

"The draft process we see as an additional way of adding to those stocks as well."
