Essendon Has Made A Decision On The Number One Pick
Essendon has drafted Andrew McGrath with the number one pick in the 2017 AFL draft.
McGrath is a powerful, AFL-ready player who starred for the Sandringham Dragons in 2016, averaging over 30 disposals a game.
He plays off half back with the ability to push into the midfield, and led the Dragons to a TAC Cup premiership this year.
The 18-year-old beat Hugh McCluggage and Will Setterfield to the coveted honour of the number one draft pick.
"It's an exciting feeling," he said after being drafted.
"I couldn't wait for anything more...I can't wait to get started."
