Chris Rogers Describes "Issue" With Aussie Selectors
"I just think they're so concerned..."
Former Aussie opener Chris Rogers has noted there is a "bit of an issue" with the Australian selectors during the first Test against South Africa.
Rogers joined Ed Kavalee and Dale Lewis on Triple M's Dead Set Legends and noted one main example as to where the selectors aren't getting it right.
"I think there's a bit of an issue there," he said. when the selectors picked Joe Mennie over Jackson Bird for his batting."
"I just think they're so concerned about that middle order and its output that they're trying to cover all bases, really."
He also picked apart his main concern with the middle order: Mitch Marsh's form at number six.
"It's starting to get to the point, unfortunately, that they're going to have to think about that number six position," he said.
"I feel for Mitch Marsh, because there's so much to like, but he's still hasn't played a lot of cricket, and it's such a tough environment to learn the game.
"I like what he brings to the side as well, but that position, it's crucial. You need to get runs, and we probably just aren't getting enough."
