Trbo-Charged Tom To Turn It Up A Gear In 2017
The best is yet to come!
Tom Trbjoevic has been running with an ankle like a wheel clamp this season.
After off-season surgery, the 20-year-old will be even better next season...if that's even possible.
“In terms of his running, he has basically run the past two years with a stiff ankle. If you picture a 60-year-old walking around with stiff ankle, he’s had the same thing. Now it has been loosened, it has been strengthened through surgery, we have to re-run him and teach him how to run balanced," Manly's head of physical performance Dan Ferris said.
According to a Daily Telegraph report, the off-season will be spent practising running on the newly-repaired ankle, in order to build up strength before the competition kicks off next year.
“Hopefully as a result of surgery, I can become a bit faster. I got run down a few times this season. You like to score tries and not get run down. Hopefully I can get a bitter quicker," Trbojevic said.
