The minute US actor Scott Eastwood touched down in Australia, he made a beeline for the humble meat pie.
Having lived in the country for six months when he was 20, the now 30-year-old has vivid memories of the Aussie classic.
"I said I've got to have a meat pie when I get in," he told AAP on Saturday.
He even posted his conquest to his almost two million Instagram followers. See the instagram post below.
The Hollywood star touched down in Australia this week to begin production on the sequel to Pacific Rim, but managed to make an appearance at the Melbourne Cup Carnival on Derby Day.
Wearing traditional black and white in a Ralph Lauren suit and sporting some dark sunglasses, Eastwood easily turned heads at the Birdcage enclosure.
Arriving late in the afternoon and having missed a few races, the American said he'll be trying his luck at placing a bet.
But as soon as he entered the Sensis marquee, Eastwood was more interested in chatting to the musical talent, namely Aussie singer Samantha Jade.
Gearing up for a few months of shooting in Australia, Eastwood admits he played a part in getting the production to come Down Under.
"When they told me, 'Do you wanna do this movie in Australia or Romania?', I said I'll do the Australian movie!" he said.
The movie will be shot at Sydney's Fox Studios and later head to Queensland, a state Eastwood knows well.
"When I was about 20 I lived in Burleigh Heads and then I just travelled around," he said.
"I lived there for a few months, I came down to Sydney for a little bit, then I drove to Melbourne - I sort of did a bunch (of places)."
He said his time in Australia was so enjoyable he almost didn't return to America, as he had only bought a one-way ticket.
