Over 1000 people have attended a rally at Morry Breen Oval in Kanwal to voice their anger over the Baird Government's plan to privatise Wyong Hospital.

Member for The Entrance DAVID MEHAN said it was an incredible show of support by the community yesterday, who clearly don't want their public hospital privatised.

"It was such a big turnout, probably the biggest demonstration we've seen on the Central Coast," Mr Mehan said.

"The community wants to see the hospital owned by the community and not a private operator"

Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Scot MacDonald has hit back at Labor's claims that Wyong Hospital is being sold and that the health system is being 'Americanised'.

Mr. MacDonald said "the NSW Government announced its intention to build a new hospital at Wyong that will provide free, high-quality public health care and more services than before,"

He said local Labor MP's David Harris and David Mehan are saying no to better public health care and state-of-the-art facilities for local patients and their careers.’
