Man Charged After Attempted Bag Snatch NSW Police Facebook

A Kincumber man has been charged after allegedly trying to snatch an elderly woman's handbag.

The 21-year-old was arrested on Kooronya Road at 10am yesterday, accused of knocking her to the ground attempting to steal her purse as she walked on Showground Road near Gosford Railway Station earlier this month.

Thankfully the 70-year-old wasn't hurt.

The man's been bailed to reappear in court next month.


LAST WEEK: Police investigating an attempted robbery at Gosford last Friday have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak with.

Just before 6.30pm, a man approached a 70-year-old woman and attempted to steal her handbag as she was walking along a pathway on Showground Road, near Gosford Railway Station.

The woman fell to the ground; however, wasn’t injured.

The man fled empty-handed.

Police were alerted and officers from Brisbane Water Police District attended and commenced inquiries.

Investigators have now released CCTV images of a man they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The man in the image is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late teens, approximately 165cm tall and of thin build.

He was wearing a hooded jumper and dark-coloured pants.
