Police expect charges to be laid, as they continue investigating a head-on crash involving a Mitsubishi Pajero and Ford Laser at Kanwal yesterday.

It's understood one of the cars crossed onto the incorrect side of Lake Haven Drive and hit the other around 4pm, leaving the man driving the Laser trapped for some time.


He was airlifted to John Hunter with leg and pelvic fractures after being released, along with his 11 year old son.

While the driver of the 4WD, a 27-year-old woman, and her 6-year-old daughter were both taken to Wyong Hopsital, the woman suffering a broken foot.

It’s one of three accidents to have taken place on the Coast since yesterday afternoon – there was also a three car accident on the Pacific Highway at Wadalba, while last night a car hit a guardrail on the Tuggerah straight near the Metro service station.
