Police have charged a man with numerous offences after he allegedly indecently assaulted an 18 year old door to door saleswoman in Bateau Bay yesterday.

About 2.30pm, the woman was working as a sales representative in the area when she knocked on the front door of a home on Sabrina Avenue.

A 47-year-old man answered the door and asked the woman to come inside. The woman declined and started walking away from the premises.

After a struggle the woman managed to flee from the home and reported the incident to police.

About 11.50am today, officers from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command attended the Sabrina Avenue home and arrested the occupant.

He was taken to Wyong Police Station where he was questioned and later charged with detain person with intent to obtain advantage, assault with act of indecency, intimidation and command assault.

He was refused bail and will appear in Wyong Local Court tomorrow.
