Gosford will soon be home to the headquarters for Destination Network Sydney Surrounds North.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Coast Scot MacDonald announced the good news this hour at Central Coast Council's smart work hub in William Street, where the HQ will be based.
DNSSN Chairperson David fellows says the hub will employ three people, and help support the local tourism industry, worth $844 million annually.
"Gosford was ultimately chosen for a number of reasons, one (being) geographically, no part of our territory is more than two and half hours from Gosford, so it's almost the epicentre of our region."
The Sydney Surrounds North network will be responsible for overseeing all the events and tourism skills training for businesses in the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, the Hunter and Port Stephens. Former Coffs Coast Tourism Manager Glenn Caldwell has been appointed General Manger.

Last night a Terrigal fish and chip shop collected the people's choice award for the best in NSW, and Crowne Plaza was recognised in the Outstanding ocmmunity service category in at Tourism Accommodation NSW's Awards for Excellence.
