Liberals Ask Labor Which Coast Spots Get “Half A Commuter Carpark”

Claims $15m not enough

Liberals Ask Labor Which Coast Spots Get “Half A Commuter Carpark”

Liberal reps have hit back at Labor's $15 million promise for commuter car parks on the Central Coast.

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten hit town yesterday, making an election pledge of multistorey builds at Gosford and Tuggerah, plus an extension of Woy Woy’s facility.

Labor says it’d add around 1,000 further car spaces across the Coast, as about 30,000 residents leave the region to catch trains to work in Sydney and Newcastle every day.

However, Robertson MP Lucy Wicks says based on the NSW Government’s estimated costs, that’s basically half a carpark each.

“Labor over promises and always under delivers,” Ms Wicks said.

“The Opposition has not actually consulted with the state government which owns the carparks.”
