Man Airlifted From Kincumber To RNS With Significant Burns

UPDATE: SafeWork NSW has launched an investigation after a 37-year-old male welder was injured at a brewery on Cochrone Road, Kincumber on Wednesday, 8 February.

 
Initial enquiries indicate the man was welding a steel vat at the brewery when a flash occurred that caused burns to his hands, face, and chest.
 
SafeWork NSW’s investigation is ongoing.
 

 

THURSDAY: A man has been left with burns to around 30% of his body, after an accident while he was welding a beer tank at a Kincumber brewery yesterday.

CareFlight airlifted the 38 year old from Cochrone Street to Royal North Shore around 4:30pm. 

It's understood he suffered burns to his face and upper body after the tank exploded.

He was placed in an induced coma, and is now receiving ongoing treatment in the specialist burns unit.
