Man charged, hospitalised after Glenning Valley siege

UPDATE 1800 24/1/18 - Andrew Malone has been refused bail to front court again in late February.

 

A man has been hospitalised, following an eight hour stand off with police in Glenning Valley.

Officers say they were called out over a domestic incident at a Bottlebrush Drive home just before 5 yesterday afternoon, when the man armed himself with knives and refused to let officers in.

Tactical police and negotiators were called in over the next few hours.

The 52-year-old man allegedly confronted police with knives in hand, and was tasered to be brought into custody just after midnight.

He suffered cuts during the incident.

He's been refused bail to front Wyong Court today, charged with use weapon to avoid apprehension.
