Police are investigating after a fire broke out in Brisbane Water National Park yesterday and came dangerously close to damaging properties.
About 4.10pm, Fire & Rescue NSW responded to a call regarding a bushfire in the Brisbane Water National Park, approximately 200 meters north-west of Burdett Place.
The blaze moved through bushland in the national park burning approximately 3 Hectares.
No homes were damaged and no one was injured during the fire that was eventually brought under control with assistance from the Rural Fire Service and National Parks and Wildlife crews.
The fire is being treated as suspicious with a number of local residents providing information concerning four male youths that were seen in the area at the time the fire started.
Police from Brisbane Water Local Area Command are investigating the cause of the fire and would like to speak with anyone who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
