Police Officer's Nose Broken In Ettalong Assault

A man will spend the next two weeks behind bars, after allegedly punching a police officer in a stoush at Ettalong Beach overnight.

26 year old Jake Brady didn't apply for bail in Gosford Local Court today, and it was refused. The matter's been adjourned until Paril 20th.

Brisbane Water police say they sent a few officers to a restaurant on Ocean View Road around 10:30pm, to take care of a man behaving badly.

It's be alleged the police arrived to find the accused shirtless, before he suddenly punched one of them in the face without warning, knocking him backwards onto the road.

It left the officer in Gosford Hospital with a broken nose.

Mr Brady was arrested in Woy Woy just before 6 this morning, and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and resist police.
