Roadworks At Point Clare From This Weekend

Roadworks At Point Clare From This Weekend

Motorists are advised work will be starting to improve pedestrian safety from this Sunday on Brisbane Water Drive, near Talinga Avenue at Point Clare.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Scot MacDonald MLC said the NSW Government has provided $2 million to improve safety on Brisbane Water Drive between Glenrock Parade and Manooka Road.

“Following representations by the community to myself, in November 2016 Roads and Maritime carried out a safety review to identify and address safety issues along this section of road,” Mr MacDonald said.

“Following a review of community feedback, planned pedestrian improvements will be carried out on Brisbane Water Drive near Talinga Avenue.”

“Work will involve installing a low level concrete barrier to protect pedestrians when walking to the shopping centre and bus stop on the western side of Brisbane Water Drive.”

“This early work forms part of a larger program of work which is currently under development. Roads and Maritime will continue to keep the community updated as this program of work progresses.”

Work will start on Sunday 18 March from 7pm to 5am, between Sundays and Thursdays. It is expected to be completed by mid-April, weather permitting.

No work will be carried out on from Friday 30 March to Monday 2 April, due to the Easter long weekend.

For the safety of motorists and workers, lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place during work hours.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
