There were a couple of serious accidents on Central Coast roads overnight, despite local police pleading with drivers to slow down and take it easy with Operation Tortoise and Double Demerits in full force.

The most recent occurred at Tumbi Umbi just before 4am on Palm Valley Road.

Emergency services were called to a single-vehicle accident where a car hit a fence and flipped.

Tuggerah Lakes Police, Central Coast Rescue and Chittaway RFS attended the scene. It's not yet known if anyone was injured.

Meanwhile, late last night a two-vehicle smash on the Pacific Highway at San Remo saw one person hospitalised.

It comes following the first recorded fatal of the Easter holiday long weekend, where a 27 year old man lost his life in a two-vehicle smash at Brandy Hill, near Raymond Terrace, in the Hunter.
