For the third time in less than a year, the state government has pledged emergency dredging funding as a quick fix for the Ettalong Channel.
Minister for Lands Paul Toole headed to Ettalong today, to confirm $250,000 will be pumped into the project to clear the choked up passage.
"This could see... around 20,000 cubic metres of sand removed," Mr Toole says.
"Hopefully over the next week we'll see the surveying work take place, and in the next three to four weeks we'll see those boats operating again along the Channel."
This money is separate from the 50-50 grant Council resolved to apply for to maintain the channel under the Rescuing Our Waterways scheme.
