UPDATE: A so-called 'body modifier' been charged with genital mutilation, after a two-year investigation by Central Coast Police.
Terrigal man Brendan Russell has been granted strict conditional bail and issued with a Court Attendance Notice to face Gosford Local Court on Tuesday May 15.
Officers from the Brisbane Water and Tuggerah Lakes Police Districts formed Strike Force Nellievale, following a formal complaint by a 33-year-old woman who the man allegedly performed a procedure on at a business in Newcastle West in 2016.
Around 8am today, officers travelled to a home at Terrigal and arrested the 37-year-old tattooist/body modifier.
He was taken to the Gosford Police Station and charged with the offence Prohibition of female genital mutilation.
Detectives also combed over Mr Russell's house this morning, and his tattoo and body piercing studio at Erina Fair.
