A man has been jailed for 34 years for the stabbing murder of his ex-wife's dinner companion at Hornsby Westfield in 2016 in a crime that rocked the Central Coast.
Terrigal Wamberal Sharks junior rugby league club president KEITH COLLINS was enjoying a first date with aged care worker JOVI PILAPIL after meeting on Tinder when the pair was set upon by a knife wielding ALEX VILLALUNA.
53 year old Mr COLLINS, who was also a much loved father and respected businessman in the packaging industry, was stabbed repeatedly in the chest and died at the scene, while 39 year old Ms PILAPIL suffered serious injuries.
VILLALUNA, who was arrested at the scene and later pleaded guilty, will serve a minimum 30 years.
He'd been separated from Ms PILAPIL for 4 months and an AVO was in place.
Mr Collins' 4 children and 3 step-children were in court for today's sentencing.
