An 80-year-old woman has been flown to hospital in a serious but stable condition after she was hit by a vehicle while crossing the road in East Gosford this afternoon.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to help the injured pedestrian shortly before 2.30pm, landing in Hylton Moore Park near the scene.
The woman was hit on Victoria Street, with local NSW Ambulance paramedics quickly on scene providing initial care. NSW Fire & Rescue crews also responded
Paramedics conveyed the patient to meet the helicopter where CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic provided additional treatment for head, chest and limb injuries.
The woman was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
