The community and motorists are advised of essential maintenance work starting next Tuesday on Old Mooney Mooney Creek Bridge on the Old Pacific Highway.
A Roads and Maritime spokesperson said the NSW Government is funding the repainting of the bridge to reduce ongoing maintenance costs.
“A worksite will be established from Tuesday 10 April including site fencing, a site compound on the northern and southern sides of the bridge, scaffolding and installation of navigable channel markers and signage,” the spokesperson said.
Work will be carried out from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and from 8am to 1pm on Saturday. It is expected work will be completed at the end of September, weather permitting.
“There will be no impact to traffic, since work will be carried out from scaffolding or a platform under the bridge.
“Pedestrian access will also be maintained, however access to the stairs to the Great North Walk will be temporarily reduced at times during work. During this time, a project team member will be onsite to safely escort pedestrians.”
Roads and Maritime thanks the community for their patience during this time.
