You could soon have a waiter bringing you cocktails while you relax on the sand on the Gold Coast.
Council is looking at opening small sections of our beaches up for commercial purposes.
Mayor Tom Tate said while most beaches will remain untouched, small areas outside beachfront resorts could be roped off, so guests can be served drinks and be pampered.
He said it would never be a case of beach-goers being hassled by hawkers like over in Bali.
The Mayor said he will approach the Sheraton Mirage in Mainbeach, for a trial run.
"We've got wonderful beaches here in our city, it's our best asset, but we have to look at areas to update it to make sure that world-class service comes to mind," he said.
"As far as Burleigh, Broadbeach, Surfers Paradise and Coolangatta are concerned, mate, nothing will change."
