Mental health and job security is being strengthened in Mackay. The Federal Government has announced a record $1.45 billion for community mental health services. It will see over $75 million dollars flow into the Northern Queensland Primary Health Network which services Mackay, Townsville and Cairns

Mackay Netball have recognised a long standing volunteer within the community. Lyn Law has completed thirteen years of voluntary service as President of the association. This year she decided not to stand again due to her involvement with the launch of the Northern Rays in the Sapphire Series

A win and a loss for Queensland in the Under 19 Men's Softball yesterday. Day two saw Riley James take to the diamond against Western Australia  where the side couldn't break away. They went down three runs to ten dropping down to second on the leaderboard despite a massive fourteen nothing win in the afternoon against ACT
