An absolutely heartbreaking job for emergency teams just south of the Tweed border, who will retrieve the bodies of a mother and two children who drowned in their car yesterday afternoon.
A 9 year old girl escaped the car, and raised the alarm with some locals doing flood cleanup nearby, but it was too late.
Police will investigate whether the car may've slipped on a closed muddy road before sliding into the nearby Tweed River.
Up in Rockhampton meantime, locals are playing the waiting game ahead of the flood peak tomorrow, while the Mud Army's being mobilized around Beenleigh and Logan from this morning.
Brisbane City Council will also do a mosquito spray of the wetlands near Bald Hills to stop an outbreak after the recent rain.
