Iceland Takes Massive Step Towards Closing Gender Pay Gap

In a huge step towards closing the gender pay gap,  Iceland will be bringing in legislation that would force all businesses to prove they offer the same pay to men and women.

Failing to prove it could even result in businesses being fined for a breach.

Iceland already ranks number 1 on the World Economic Forum's global gender pay gap index, making this an impressive step further.

In Australia, even though legislation against discrimination based on someone's sex was brought in in 1984, there remains a gap of 15-18% between women's and men's earnings
