Horrific new pictures of the inside of the London's Grenfell Tower have been released by police.
They show "the scale of the challenge" authorities are facing in recovering loved ones in the wake of last week's massive fire.
Looking something like a war zone - if not worse - mattresses, bathtubs, washing machines and even an exercise bike can be made out in some of the photos.
A recovery team took the pictures as they work alongside Ambulance and Fire workers.
"Whilst our teams have been from the bottom to the top of the tower, we must now carry out a full forensic and systematic search," said Commander Stuart Cundy.
"The conditions due to the fire damage verge on indescribable, which is why this will be such a lengthy operation taking weeks to complete"
"We must also prepare people for the terrible reality that some people may not be identified due to the intensity of the fire."
The number of those missing and feared dead has risen from 58, with police to deliver an update later today.
“I must consider the fact that there may be others in the building who, for whatever reason have not been reported to us," he said.
"There is also a real possibility that there may be people in the building that no one knows are missing."
