Two-time grand slam winner Victoria Azarenka has withdrawn from the US Open because she's unable to take her baby boy out of California.
It's due to a custody battle with her former partner, and understandably she doesn't want to leave the baby behind.
The 28-year-old Belarusian returned to tennis in June after giving birth to son Leo last December.
She was hoping legal arrangements for custody would be sorted out in time for her to play in US Open in New York however her ongoing family situation isn't expected to be settled in October at the earliest.
Azarenka took to Instagram to share the news with fans:
Azarenka's withdrawal has opened up a place for Japan's Misa Eguchi in the main draw at the year's final grand slam.
