7:20am Monday: Firefighters have worked through the night to bring the Edgeworth bushfire under control.
The blaze has burnt through around 150 hectares of bush near Newcastle Link Road and Minmi Road.
Fire and Rescue NSW has confirmed the fire started from a car being set alight.
All lanes of the Link Road are open this morning.
7:43pm Sunday: - All westbound lanes of Newcastle Link Road are closed.
Traffic can use Lake Road and Main Road instead.
6:57pm: Around 20 RFS and Fire and Rescue trucks are tackling the fire at Edgeworth.
It's now burnt through 100 hectares of bush.
Back burning is about to begin, which will result in more smoke in teh area.
No homes are under threat.
6:19pm: Fire and Rescue NSW says the fire started from a burnt out car.
About 50 to 60 hectares of bush has gone up around Minmi Road and the Link Road.
5:58pm: One westbound lane of the Link Road is closed due to smoke from the Edgeworth bushfire.
5:22pm: A large bushfire burning at Edgeworth is bringing up a large amount of smoke.
Firefighters are tackling the blaze in bush off Minmi Road.
An RFS spokesperson says no homes are under threat.
The fire is being fanned by an easterly wind, causing smoke to drift over Link Road and Cameron Park.
The fire is listed at the Advice level.
