BREC Set To Become World Class Venue

City of Bunbury Increases Funding

BREC Set To Become World Class Venue

Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre continues to establish itself as a leading Australian Entertainment venue, and an increase in operating funding from the City of Bunbury will take it to even greater heights.

BREC will receive $435,000 from the council across 2017/18, increasing from $387,000 from the last financial year.

The City of Bunbury is confident the investment will boost BREC's conference facilities to a world-class level.

BREC General Manager Sharon Custers said the increased funding will help increase international awareness of the venue.

“Our conference marketing campaign will go out nationally and will focus heavily on digital marketing strategies,” Ms Custers said.

“It feels great to be able to partner with the City of Bunbury to increase visitation to the Bunbury CBD through conferencing. “I am sure it will make a huge difference for Bunbury CBD businesses and hotels to have an extra 800 or so people in town for a three-day conference every couple of months.”

Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan also praised BREC's potential for further expansion.

“We know that BREC already has a calendar full of quality entertainment and adding to its conference capacity would bring significant benefits,” Mr Brennan said.

BREC was recently named Australian Performing Arts Centre of the Year at the 2017 Drover Awards.
