The NSW Rural Fire Service has issued a warning to Holsworthy residents after a bush fire broke out on the Military Reserve.
Smoke from the uncontrolled blaze is currently blanketing the area as firies work to contain it.
There is no immediate danger but residents are being encouraged to monitor the situation throughout the day.
Older people, children and those with asthma or lung conditions are advised to keep doors and windows closed to prevent smoke from entering their home and to reduce outdoor activities.
If driving through the affected area, keep your windows up and headlights on.
Anyone developing shortness of breath or a cough should take their reliever medication and seek medical advice.
