Richmond star Alex Rance is set for more TV time in 2017, with the defender landing a role on Channel Nine's Postcards.

Rance's profile will extend further beyond the field as a presenter for the show, as well as a new segment on The Footy Show.

"I'm excited about joining both Postcards and The Footy Show this year. I am looking forward to showing people my creative side and having a lot of laughs," Rance said.

The 27-year-old has already made his way into the media with a role alongside Sam Newman on The Footy Show.

“Every now and then a player stands out from the crowd and we think Alex does that,’’ said Nine Melbourne's head of production and programming, Tim Cleary.

"You’ll see him out and about on Postcards and he’s filming a new segment for The Footy Show. The Pokémon piece he did with Sam (Newman) last year is a nod to what he’ll be doing more regularly on the show this year.”
